Zinnemann Grid
Zinnemann are hosting twelve sims on multiple servers. This estate is in both the OSGrid and Linden Lab's Open Grid Public Beta and will be devoted to sailing.
Visiting the Zinnemann Estate
The easiest way to visit the Zinnemann Estate is by logging into OSGrid using your Second Life viewer (see these instructions) and clicking on the Zinnemann link when you do so:
Free Parcels Available
OpenSimulator (which powers Zinnemann Grid) is still in alpha development. We would like to invite other Second Life sailors to apply for free use of half a sim for the duration of this alpha period. We have one free parcel left. To be considered for it please IM Hans Zinnemann in Second Life.
Host Your Own Grid
We invite those that are keen to host their own sailing sims to place their sims adjacent to the Zinnemann Estate. If you do not have the infrastucture to host your own sims Zinnemann can provide your own dedicated OpenSim hosting.
Backing Up
Residents are reminded that OpenSim is still in the early days of development and regular backups using a tool like Second Inventory are highly recommended.
Also please note that the estate will automatically restart without warning every day at 04:00 UT.
